Counselor Statement
Professional school counselors are advocates, leaders, collaborators, and consultants who create opportunities for personal growth and success in students’ lives. As a school counselors, we believe in a commitment towards professional development to continue learning and staying current to best serve our students. The school counseling program should be consistent with the developmental stages of learning and apply ASCA ethical standards for school counselors to help make decisions based on moral principles to support every student.
Vision Statement
A school counselor is committed to the students and communities they serve, creating a sense
of belonging amongst the students, providing support and encouragement while giving a positive, safe place where all children feel loved, respected, and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential. A counselor maintains an environment which acknowledges and respects students from diverse family and cultural backgrounds. School counselors offer a safe, happy place where everyone is known and valued, and where differing needs are accepted and welcomed.
Mission Statement
As school counselors our mission in partnership with teachers, administrators, parents, and community is to provide students with a comprehensive school counseling program centered around student achievement, academic, and personal/social growth. Students will feel safe and valued in an environment where their voice and opinions are respected while encouraging them to be creative, seek knowledge, be thoughtful, and active members of their school and community. I believe all people have dignity, worth, and value and each student deserves to be treated with respect and fairness and equity.
